McGroarty (lower body) is skating at the USA Hockey's national goaltender development camp, Sean Shapiro of DLLS Sports reports.
McGroarty (lower body) will not return for the Penguins this season, but could still be an option during the Calder Cup Playoffs for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The big forward has a high compete level to go with skill and scoring ability. He is a threat in the offensive zone because of his on-ice vision, shot and puck skills, and he wins more than his share of puck battles. His biggest issue for the NHL level is his skating; he is likely quick enough but has an awkward stride that could hold him back.
Long Range Potential: Big, physical offensive forward.
